FOOTY.COM kick off World Cup with new talk show and move to The Sharp Project

FOOTY.COM, a retail and content creating startup with their head office in Durham, have located their brand new Digital Marketing team in The Sharp Project in Newton Heath, Manchester.

FOOTY.COM is a website that allows football fans to compare prices on the latest football gear.  They create video, photographic, written and social content to celebrate the world of football products and merchandise.

The business started as football-obsessed director Chris Nixon spotted a gap in the market for a price comparison service specifically designed for football products and FOOTY.COM was born.

Their move to Manchester was based on the city offering both the talent and the facilities for the business to expand and develop.

Ayshea Elliott, Head of Digital at FOOTY.COM said:

“We felt strongly that Manchester was a city bursting with digital marketing talent and the City’s long and illustrious footballing heritage and passion meant it was the perfect base for our digital team.  The Sharp Project just felt right from the moment we walked in, we loved the community vibe here and the opportunities to capture great images and video within cool surroundings.”

To mark the launch of the 2018 World Cup today, FOOTY.COM have launched a talk show dedicated to the championship. Says Ayshea:

“Our World Cup talk show will be our flagship content on YouTube during the tournament.  This will feature our three presenters: Oliver Hayes, Steven McInerney and Phil Delves who will bring their unique take on the World Cup.  The team are all fanatical about football and as Oliver is obsessed with football boots and Phil is a football shirt collector they won’t be able to resist dissecting the football gear that’s worn as well as the goals that are scored”

Ayshea explains how important it is for online brands to be creating original content:

“Content is king now and users will engage with brands creating quality output that they find entertaining, informative and relevant.  Brands that have overlooked this opportunity are missing a huge opportunity to build a personal relationship with users who will then go on to become engaged customers.”

Rob Page, Commercial Director at The Sharp Project commented:

“We’ve always prided ourselves on being the right environment for start-ups looking to develop so we’re very pleased that the FOOTY.COM team chose The Sharp Project to move to. We look forward to seeing the business develop as the team develop content on-site and collaborate with our existing creative community”

As the World Cup starts today, the FOOTY.COM team have outlined their tips for who’ll lift the trophy on July 15th.

Steven: “Despite all logic and rationality, I’ve decided this is the year finally Leo Messi picks up a World Cup trophy. Even considering their indifferent form, I think they’ll just have enough to scrape their way to the final, and once there Messi will do his Messi thing and prove that he’s the greatest of all time.”

Phil: “This is the best Brazil team since 2002, and after the horror show of 2014 I’m fully expecting them to take Russia by storm. There’s quality and depth at every position, and best of all a tactical versatility which will help them go the distance.”

Oliver: “As a Man City fan there’s a couple of teams to support based on player nationalities but it’s as simple as ABC for me. Spain will be victorious in Russia and David Silva will score in the final. See you on July 15th…”
