The guys at Project:Simply today launched the Salford City Stadium website which will be announced at tonight’s final Salford City Reds game.

The team won the prestigious local contract back in July with Air Creative Agency, with a brief to provide Salford City Stadium with an eye catching, easy to use website that have an intuitive events interface, live community pitch booking system and easy to use administrator panel whereby anyone could change any part of the site with the click of a button, and they did it.

“We decided to build the site in WordPress CMS” said Chris Hutchison, Lead developer at Project:Simply, “as it had the flexibility to add all of the required functionality in the short time frame as well as being highly future proofed using such open source technology”. The added benefit is that WordPress seamlessly links into the social space so that the website will be fairly self promoting though the feedback and comments of its users.

Using open source systems means the client doesn’t get locked into any long term relationship which they may want to get out of at a later date. “We like to think we retain our clients through transparency, reliability, and on a performance related basis, as it should be” said Christian Hill, Director of Search at Project:Simply.

“The size of the project and the number of stakeholders involved meant we had to carefully plan the project using our project management software and website staging platform which helps everyone know where we are up to, whats needed by what time and whether anyone is late on delivery” said Christian. “Its important to make sure the client is in the loop at all times.”

The site will be promoted to the Salford City Reds fans for ticket purchases and to the wider community for its bookable state of the art outdoor pitches and its fantastic hospitality and conference facilities. The actual stadium won’t be complete for another 6 months but the live countdown clock on the homepage makes sure everyone is awaiting the date.
