Welcome to The Sharp Project Events page as we look forward to 2012 and the continuing development of the site, including the opening of The Campus and a range of special events across The Sharp Project.
But first, a bit of background of what’s gone before at The Sharp Project.
Opening our doors before the arrival of the first tenants when we played host to the BBC TV production ‘Casualty 1909′; since then our production spaces have been put to use for three other major productions: Sky1’s ‘Mount Pleasant’ (Tiger Aspect), CBBC’s ‘My Genius Idea’ (Shine TV) and Channel 4’s ‘Fresh Meat’ (Lime Pictures).
Our other spaces have been put to good use, too, with a number of events taking place including the Creative & Digital Summit (Event 001) on the afternoon of 29 June 2011. The summit immediately preceded our formal launch night, which also saw the opening of 80 Hertz Studio, with live performances streamed to The Campus.

As 2011 drew to a close, we passed the milestone of 75% occupancy, and opened the next phase of office space in Gold. Event 002 was our first event to be held in the Winter Garden, and was a debate on intellectual property sponsored by our own resident IP lawyers, Ward Hadaway. It turned out to be quite a heated discussion that highlighted something of a fault-line between consumers and creators of digital content; it certainly left both sides appreciating each other’s position a little more.

Event 003 will see The Sharp Project launch The Campus facility in March 2012 with a ‘Fresher’s Month’, featuring activities that will showcase the venue’s new social hub with a programme of seminars, showcases and networking events for the creative & digital sector in the North West. The Campus will be the social hub of The Sharp Project, accessible to tenants, on site production companies and to Campus Members.
‘Fresher’s Month’ will be an opportunity to experience The Campus at The Sharp Project and the facilities it will offer on a week by week basis. This will give Sharp Project tenants a chance to engage and network with the wider creative digital community and showcase their work and do business with new Members.
